Design an engaging and visually interesting magazine spread for a music artist of our choice. We were required to select an artist, research and collect an article with a minimum of 600 words. Black and white photography was to be be incorporated which we were to plan and photograph on our own.
Content
For my magazine spread I chose the album Elephant by the White Stripes. I chose to center my concept around Jack White's first response in the 2003 New York Times article; the decline of the sweetheart/the gentlemen. I felt that the band usually has a very rock and roll look and feel so I wanted to take a more delicate approach by choosing serifed font for the body copy and a calligraphy style for the headline and pull quote.
