DVARC (The Domestic Violence Action Research Collective) is a multidisciplinary group of DC-based researchers and practitioners committed to building an empirical evidence base, generated through collaborative inquiry and shared capacity building, to strengthen services available to survivors of domestic violence in the District. DCCADV participate in this collaborative collective. The group created a report that discusses DC’s housing issues and the domestic violence survivors.
For this project I was asked to design the layout and graphics of a 4 part report (only 1 report is shown in this sample). Images were sourced online and graphs were provided by the group. For this project, my main goal was to present the information clearly without overwhelming the reader with too much text and information. My secondary goal was with the image selection and placement given that the message of this report is dealing with a sensitive subject matter, finding the right tone was important.
